Warner Bros and DC are promising to deliver on THE FLASH in a big-screen adventure! In fact, they’ve got the script and the visuals to prove it! So what could Ezra Miller’s take on the Scarlet Speedster look like? Take a look now…
The blockbuster season may have been put on a pause this season. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone, especially Hollywood which has only started to allow productions to go back into effect. With Robert Pattinson testing positive recently on the set of The Batman the studio effectively shut the set down and pushed many of its blockbusters down on the calendar, including the big-screen feature of The Flash starring Ezra Miller as the Fastest Man Alive he introduced in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and followed up in Justice League.
It’s been stop and go for Miller’s take on the Scarlet Speedster; the movie itself has changed directorial hands several times before now finally settling on Andres Muschietti. The film’s screenwriter Christina Hodson expressed her confidence in Muschietti direction and vision for the film during the recent DC Fandome Experience, and although they didn’t want to give away too much of the movie’s highlights, they did give the fans a glimpse of what Ezra Miller’s “Flash” suit might look like. Check out the artist’s renditions included in this feature, which also provide a glimpse a very familiar-looking caped crusader.
With the broad expectation that the cinematic adventure will basically “reboot” the big screen expanded universe of features, it is more than likely that the film will be based on the “Flashpoint” storyline that overhauled much of the DC comics universe. Michael Keaton has been tapped to reprise his role as “Batman” but it is speculated that the actor will be playing the role of Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father who adopts the identity of Gotham’s vigilante in the “Flashpoint” arc. Ben Affleck who co-starred with Miller in the Justice League will also appear in the film along with Ray Fisher as Cyborg.
To compound the anticipation for the big screen feature and after Ezra Miller made an unannounced cameo in The CW’s epic “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover opposite Grant Gustin, who stars as the primetime iteration of Barry Allen/The Flash, it has been reported by several online outlets that Gustin may return the favor and appear in the film, helping to establish the idea of a multiverse of Flashes that co-exist across all mediums.
THE FLASH | has been tentatively pushed for a wide theatrical release in 2022 | and will star Ezra Miller and Ben Affleck, as well as feature Michael Keaton.
