The thrill is on! February is shaping up to be the month of thrillers and horror franchises, set to dominate the box office and drive revenue across streaming services. The highly anticipated Scream 7, the next installment in the franchise, will be directed by its writer/creator, Kevin Williamson, for the first time, and is stoking the flames of high anxiety, promising a return to form. Perhaps inspired by Williamson’s own ambition, writer/director Maiara Walsh has set sights on pushing the boundaries with the darkly engaging erotic thriller BIGHT.

The film explores society’s views on sexuality and relationships, when a pair of couples agree, with some trepidation, in an evening of fantasy to be captured by the lens of an avant-garde erotic photographer. “I like making films that ask its audience to sit in the discomfort and examine their own moral compass,” said Maiara Walsh, the film’s director. “Pushing boundaries can unravel the fabric of relationships, exploring complex emotions through a sensual and unsettling lens.” With a tone that far exceeds erotic thrills not seen since 9 ½ Weeks, this film promises to keep audiences engaged.
