Fans didn’t have long to wait! The official first single from Madonna’s upcoming Confessions II dropped on April 30, and it sent the internet into a tailspin. The upbeat dance track “Bring Your Love,” featuring Sabrina Carpenter, made a proper debut on the now infamous Coachella stage when the duo surprised audiences and performed it on Carpenter’s second headlining weekend at the music festival. The song was part of a medley of hits that included “Vogue” and “Like A Prayer,” and needless to say, the pair brought it!

If the track sounds familiar, then you’ve likely been following the rise of House Music since its dawn on the Chicago club scene. The Detroit-based band Inner City lent a sample from their 1988 hit “Good Life” to the Madonna & Sabrina collab. Kevin Saunderson and Roy Holmon, who wrote that hit, are given prominent song credit alongside Madonna, Shanna Jackson, and COADF2 producer, Stuart Price. The track is already making great strides across the dance charts and ranking in the Top Ten on iTunes and Spotify.

SCREENGRAB

A video starring the duo is expected to be released soon and was reportedly shot in the UK last month. Both Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter were on the scene attending this year’s Met Gala, where Carpenter performed live on stage with another legend, Stevie Nicks. “Bring Your Love” is generating unprecedented excitement, especially given that the track has a very heavy dance sound, which is sometimes commercially limited. Madonna herself has often commented on how dance music is relegated to the club scene or nightlife culture, limiting its accessibility.

The promotion surrounding the artist’s 15th album has also been strategically crafted to target Madonna’s dedicated fanbase. She made a surprise live appearance in a West Hollywood hotspot and previewed a couple of tracks off the new album. One is rumored to be called “Love Sensation,” and the other might be called “Freedom.” In the meantime, with the great reception “Bring Your Love” is getting, dance devotees are excitedly anticipating the release of a remix package that might also be accompanied by revisions of the first track off of COADF2, “I Feel So Free.”

Feeling So Free

About that “I Feel So Free” track, the first song released from Confessions II, the internet is all a buzz over the reveal that Peggy Gou has been commissioned to remix this song. It premiered on PrideRadio and is reigniting the lost art of the remix, signaling a much-needed revitalization of the club scene. Essentially proving the power of Madonna! The artist continues to elicit a relevance in the genre that is without parallel. If the re-energizing interest in The Queen of Pop’s every moment is an indication of what fans have to look forward to, this summer is heating up!
