A Pop Music Feature

With a new single and a new album, SUPERBLOOM, on the horizon, pop-songstress Jessie Ware is getting used to shining the light on the dance floor.

Springtime must be right around the corner! Most of the northeast is in the throes of some of the coldest winter temperatures of the season, but if you pop in your AirPods and ask for the latest hits in the mix, you’re going to find some warm sunshine, and you can thank Jessie Ware for that. The British pop-goddess has consistently proven her dedication to elevating her game, and has rapidly ascended to full diva level, especially with the release of her latest single “I Could Get Used To This,” the first single from her much-anticipated new album Superbloom.

Ware emerged as a musical artist in 2012 with the release of her debut album. Her music always delved into deeply personal and positively emotive themes. It was with her fourth album, What’s Your Pleasure?, that the artist transcended, embracing nu-disco rhythms and more dance-oriented productions. Kylie Minogue and Ware collaborated on the 2021 track “Kiss of Life,” which featured on Minogue’s special edition release Disco the Guest List Edition. The pairing immediately endeared Ware to Kylie’s most colorful fanbase, but honestly, Ware’s own charisma was working its magic.

Her last foray onto the music scene gave rise to the critically acclaimed That! Feels Good! The 2023 album yielded several hit singles, including “Free Yourself,” “Pearls,” and “Begin Again,” many of which were remixed for the club scene by SILK, Pablo Vitter & Brabo, Paul Woolford, and one-time Spice Girl, Melanie C (who is presently charting with the hot dance track “Sweat”). The new single continues in the artist’s tradition to explore various genres and test the extent of her musicality. Relying on her vocal maturity, the track resonates with a distinctly celebratory enthusiasm, setting the tone for the new album.

In Full Bloom

Working with Miranda Cooper, Sophia Brendan, and Jon Shave, Ware has crafted an infectious pop hit that is inspired and feels ready to fill a void. Ware has described the track as, “an invitation into the world of this album. I wanted to set the scene — romance, real love, performance, celebration, and pleasure (always!) in a garden full of gods and goddesses.” The video directed by Fa & Fon is a montage of glorious images “inspired by the goddess Juno and the theatrical language of the stage - a visual world rooted in ceremony, glamour, and feminine power.”
