Well there you have it! The Scarlet Speedster (it looks like) will truly be bathed in red for the launch of his upcoming new season when The Flash Season 3 premieres on The CW Tuesday, Oct 4. A lot has been made about what looks like a color for Barry Allen's famous suit, which has been slightly modified from season to season. Most dramatically last year, The Flash went with the more traditional "white background" on his suit's logo, and based on this "first look" at an official promo for Season 3, the suit is going more red.
The brick red, urban street fighter-look from previous seasons has often been criticized by fans, but it is undeniable how beautifully The Flash costume has looked, and how flattering it is to Grant Gustin, who continues to embody the spirit of the famous DC Comics hero. With more heroes, specifically more speedsters (including the "original" Flash, Jay Garrick and the "side kick" Wally West) appearing as part of the upcoming arc, the new color tone may be an effort to mark The Flash's place among a growing super powered community.
In any event it's a great look and everyone is excitingly anticipating the upcoming "FlashPoint" storyline that will play out after Barry's decision at the end of Season 2 to alter the timeline, tipping the scales in his favor? We'll have to wait and see. The Flash Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct 4 8/7c on The CW.
