A Pop Music Feature

The pop music icons finally come together, and the result is one of the summer’s grandest anthems, with Madonna and Kylie Minogue delivering good vibrations on “Love Sensation” (Afterhours Mix).

There’s something that we gotta do! After decades of chasing the dream, Madonna and Kylie Minogue unite, and the result is a sensation!

When the driving dance single “Love Sensation” debuted as the third offering previewing Madonna’s fifteenth studio effort CONFESSIONS II, the Queen of Pop chose to inaugurate the PRIDE season with her latest anthem, which is all about empowering love. The track’s synth sound was pleasantly arousing and just generated an overwhelmingly good feeling, which Madonna interjected into the song’s call to action: “There’s nothing that we cannot do!” It’s a joyful, energetic melody, but honestly, from the get-go, it felt like the track was missing an ingredient.

Two months later, you all came together when at the World PRIDE Music Festival in Amsterdam, Madonna introduced a special guest — and it wasn’t just anyone; it was the Pop Goddess of Love, Kylie Minogue, who leaped up and joined in on a special remix of “Love Sensation” (Afterhours Mix) courtesy of music producer and remixer empressario Stuart Price. The collaboration between these two dance icons is something that fans have been waiting years, if not decades, for, and Price - who has produced full-length projects for both - emphatically “next levels” the original.

Good Vibrations

During Madonna’s appearance on Graham Norton’s COADF2 interview special, Kylie made an impromptu appearance, serving up refreshments and gassing up her love of Madonna. Minogue brought along her own heavily worn copy of Madonna's debut album, Madonna (1983). Graham couldn’t resist asking the burning question, and finding out if the pair had collaborated on material for the new album. Neither artist divulged the truth, but by then they likely had worked on the vocals for the remix of “Love Sensation” (Afterhours Mix).

The story of how it all came together will one day be revealed, but after nearly four decades and careers that ran parallel, Madonna and Kylie Minogue finally recorded a proper duet and unveiled it to the audience that has elevated them to icon status. Debuting the track at the World PRIDE Music Festival was not only a stroke of genius; it likely helped propel the track, which is emerging as one of Madonna’s best-charting dance tracks across the world — the single reached #8 in the UK, Madonna’s highest entry in 17 years, and continues to create a sensation with its good vibrations.
