iTunedIN | MALIA CIVETZ - “Broke Boy”

Now hear this! Rising songstress MALIA CIVETZ makes an indelible impression on her Warner Records debut with the new single “Broke Boy”! An anthem dedicated to her true love, proving she’s no material girl!

The weather is warming up. In just a few short weeks, the official first day of spring will be upon us, but the temperature across the pop music charts is already starting to spike. For Malia Civetz she’s already made some friends in all the right places. Ryan Seacrest debuted her independently released single “Champagne Clouds” getting the vocal powerhouse a ringing endorsement from none other than Taylor Swift. By today’s standards that enough to get anyone’s attention!

On Civetz new single, “Broke Boy” her first single released under her new licensing deal with Warner Records, the artist is blissful and upbeat about her relationship with a man of financial challenges, but who’s all heart! She sings: “There’s no credit card that’s gonna buy my heart, cuz I gave it all to a broke boy.” In the video Malia Civetz is seen taking over the backstreets of downtown Los Angeles, and proving that money can’t buy her happiness — the artist appears at ease in her element and belts out the tune.

The singer had scored an impressive hit with her interpretation of “Just a Little Crush” (which incorporated elements of Jennifer Paige’s hit chart-topper “Crush” from 1998); though her vocals appear rather wispy and tone-down a bit on that track, “Broke Boy” is a far more impressive direction that best showcases her talent. After hearing Civetz soaring prowess on “Broke Boy” it’s far more evident she is a skilled songstress and has a deep resonating soul. Her sound is joyous and uplifting! Malia Civetz is currently putting the final touches on her debut EP.
